Traditionally, a small physical text display device mounted underneath a monitor which can display a short label; may also contain tally lamp. In analogy, nowadays also used for a small textbox underneath a PIP on a multiviewer head. Typically used to display the name of the source routed that monitor or PIP, but can be used to convey arbitrary information (e.g. video format, timecode, or PIP number). See also: OMD.
