Link aggregation refers to combining (“aggregating”) multiple network links in order to increase bandwidth, improve resilience, or both. Different Operating Systems and platforms may have different names for link aggregation:

  • Bonding (Linux)
  • Teaming (Windows)
  • EtherChannel (Cisco)
  • Port-Channel (Arista)
  • Port Aggregation (Hewlett-Packard)
  • Trunking (Oracle and others)
