Link aggregation refers to combining (“aggregating”) multiple network links in order to increase bandwidth, improve resilience, or both. Different Operating Systems and platforms may have different names for link aggregation:
- Bonding (Linux)
- Teaming (Windows)
- EtherChannel (Cisco)
- Port-Channel (Arista)
- Port Aggregation (Hewlett-Packard)
- Trunking (Oracle and others)
